Toma

One of the twelve, called the Twin, who said when Jesus resolved to go to Judea, ‘Let us also go, that we may die with him’ (John 11:16). Absent when the risen Jesus first appeared, he said he would not believe without seeing the wounds; eight days later he saw and answered, ‘My Lord and my God’ (John 20:24-29). His birth and death are not recorded; the bar reflects an estimate.
