Timotheos

Timothy

b. 20 AD

A disciple from Lystra, son of a believing Jewish mother and a Greek father, well spoken of by the brothers, whom Paul took along on his journeys (Acts 16:1-3). Paul recalls the faith of his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice (2 Timothy 1:5) and addresses him as ‘my true child in the faith’ (1 Timothy 1:2). He is named as co-sender of several of Paul’s letters. His birth and death are not recorded; the bar reflects an estimate.
