The prophet from Tishbe in Gilead who confronted Ahab and the prophets of Baal during the reigns of the northern kings (1 Kings 17:1). The text records no death; he was taken up into heaven by a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11). This bar reflects his approximate period of activity.
